What is stucco
Stucco refers to relief patterns or figures used for decoration. They are pressed or cast from various materials, used to decorate both the external facade and interiors.

There are also no obstacles for handmade lovers, because it is not difficult to make a decorative fireplace from this material with your own hands. To do this, you must go through the following stages of work:
- First of all, you need to draw a plan for the fireplace portal on paper, make a drawing. The main thing here is to accurately determine the dimensions of the future product, which will help you correctly navigate the terrain and purchase the right amount of materials.
- At the second stage, you need to prepare a site for construction, level the walls and floor as necessary.
- Next, stock up on tools and materials. In the process of work, you will need a saw, a miter box, a tape measure, a level, a pencil, glue for polyurethane, spatulas, sandpaper, a screwdriver, self-tapping screws, corks.
- Work should begin with the preparation of fireplace elements, which are sawn from pieces of polyurethane in accordance with the specified dimensions.
Next, the structure itself is assembled, the elements are attached to each other using suitable glue and self-tapping screws, depending on their location.
Before gluing parts, it is important to prepare, clean and degrease them.
When assembling, it is necessary to pay attention to the level of the structure and its corners so that the frame is even.
After assembling the frame, it is puttyed to bring it to an optimal state, and then finished. Polyurethane stucco, specially made for fireplaces, is used as a finishing material.
Stucco is glued to the portal with a special glue
It should be pressed against the base with a uniform force. If desired, the finished structure can be painted. Painting will hide all traces of assembly, joints, fasteners. For painting it is best to use acrylic paints. Two layers, in principle, will be enough.
After finishing the outer part of the false fireplace, you should move on to the inside. The firebox is decorated to your taste, if desired, the necessary equipment is built in there. Fireplaces with candles inside look great, at least designers are very fond of such variations.
There are no big difficulties with the construction of a polyurethane fireplace portal, the main thing is to consistently and carefully do all the work.
In conclusion, I would like to note that a polyurethane false fireplace is an excellent decorative structure, the construction of which is not so labor-intensive, but it is difficult to overestimate the effect of the presence of such a structure in an apartment. What do a fireplace and polyurethane have in common?
Due to its excellent physical and mechanical characteristics, polyurethane is used in various industries, including the manufacture of stucco and fireplace portals. The fact is that polyurethane products have a number of demanded practical properties (light weight, heat resistance, strength, easy installation, affordable cost, etc.). This means that the polyurethane portal is suitable for decorating not only a false fireplace, but also hearths with an electric, gas, wood-burning firebox.
