SML File Summary
According to our records, there are four file type(s) associated with the SML extension, the most popular of which is formatted as ARC/INFO Simple Macro Language File. The most common related application is ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop, released by ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute). In addition, four different programs allow you to view these files.
These files are classified into Developer Files, Video Files and 3D Image Files. The main part of the files belongs to Developer Files.
The SML file extension is supported by Windows, Mac and Linux. These file types can be found mainly on desktop computers and some mobile devices.

Features of the installation of SML pipes
Installation of in-house sewer systems is carried out using standard cast iron fittings. To connect two parts of the pipeline in straight sections and at bends, various auxiliary elements are used:
- adapters of various sections;
- support pipes for risers;
- bends at 15, 30, 45, 68 and 88 degrees;
- support rings;
- tees and crosses;
- knees and viewing windows (revisions);
- plugs and siphons.
Pipes are installed using clamps that connect two fittings mechanically by hand.
Depending on the design parameters of the engineering system, you can choose one of two types of clamps:
- ordinary - suitable for free-flow sewage, where wastewater flows by gravity, and the pressure in the pipes does not exceed 0.5 bar;
- reinforcing - suitable for pressure sewer systems with an internal pressure of up to 10 bar.
Couplings are attached outside the pipes, being installed exactly in the middle of the junction of two sections. Fixation occurs with the help of one or two fasteners (bolts or anchors), reinforced with nuts.
Before installing the sewer system, it is necessary to check cast iron products for damage.
Pipes with cracks, dents and chips cannot be used, because this can complicate installation and shorten the life of the system.
If a defect is found, it is necessary to replace the product with another one.
The difference in the diameters of the two connected sections must be at least 0.9%.
Specifications and advantages of SML pipes
The standard size of shaped products is 3 m in length. The diameter of the pipes, depending on the type, varies in the range of 50-600 mm. The quality of products is regulated by GOST 6942-98.
In operation, SML pipes show themselves on the positive side. They are characterized by the best qualities of products intended for the installation of engineering systems:
- high wear resistance and resistance to mechanical stress (shock, vibration, high pressure);
- fire resistance, fire safety;
- strength and durability;
- resistance to both high and low temperatures;
- low sound conductivity, which reduces the noise of water when passing through pipes;
- anti-corrosion properties;
- resistance to the formation of lime, grease and soap deposits.
The inner surface of the pipes is so smooth and uniform that insoluble particles, hardness salts, household grease do not accumulate on it. Such pipes do not overgrow a few years after installation, unlike conventional metal products.
Another of the key advantages of SML pipes is the ease and speed of installation. For the installation of an engineering system, it is enough to connect two fittings to each other using a metal coupling with a rubber EPDM cuff.
This is enough to ensure the perfect tightness of the joint. Additional silicone seals, rags, seals do not need to be used.
Despite the heavy weight of cast iron products, the installation of the system will require the participation of at least two people.
Thanks to the simple principle of fastening SML pipes, even a non-professional can cope with the task with a minimum set of tools.
In addition to quick installation, pipes are also easy to repair. If any section of the pipeline fails, it is enough to replace the damaged fragment with a new one. It also needs to be fixed with a coupler-clamp method, and the whole task takes no more than 10 minutes.

SML pipes have the only purpose - the construction of sewer systems for the removal of sewage and household water containing liquid household waste. In addition to them, there are other types of pipes, which are divided according to the method of installation into external and internal:
- VML - for the removal of rain and waste water with protection against condensate;
- KML - for the removal of products of processing of raw materials in various technological processes at enterprises working with aggressive chemical environments.
