Requirements for the operation of manometers
The main requirement for the operation of pressure gauges is the safety of the operator.
During operation, it is provided both by the design of the pressure gauge and by the arrangement of the front surface of the pressure gauge with protective shields or grids (clause 6.2 of GOST 2405-88 “Pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, pressure and vacuum gauges, pressure gauges, draft gauges and thrust gauges. General specifications”). Pressure gauges and attached to it pipelines must be protected from radiation heat and freezing. In some cases, depending on the working conditions and properties of the working environment, the pressure gauge can be provided with a siphon tube, an oil buffer and other devices that protect it from the effects of the environment and temperature. Devices for extracting the internal gas medium must not be connected to the connecting line that goes to the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge is installed with a key by screwing. During screwing, it is not allowed to apply force to the pressure gauge body. Pressure gauges must be free from corrosion, dirt, cracks, damage to the dial and threads. A three-way valve or device must be placed between the vessel and the pressure gauge, which allows checking the readings using a control pressure gauge. The pressure gauge is placed and illuminated in such a way that it is convenient for maintenance personnel to observe its readings. The diameter of pressure gauge cases installed from the level of the observation site at a height of up to 2 m must be at least 100 mm, at a height of 2 to 3 m at least 160 mm and at a height of 3 to 5 m at least 250 mm. If the pressure gauge is placed at a height of more than 5 m, a backup pressure gauge is installed at a lower level. On the scale of the manometer to indicate the maximum allowable pressure, a red line (mark) must be applied or the manometer is provided with an additional red arrow, the movement of which is not associated with the main working arrow. In this case, the application of a red line on the glass of the device is not allowed. On dials for measuring the pressure of oil-hazardous substances, for example, gaseous oxygen, there should be an inscription “Oxygen. Oil hazardous!” It is forbidden to use pressure gauges that: - lack a seal or test mark; - broken glass; - there is no red mark on the maximum allowable pressure or an additional (control) red arrow on the scale; - the working arrow does not return to the zero mark of the scale by an amount exceeding half of the minimum permissible measurement error for a particular pressure gauge; - there are other damages that may affect the correctness of the pressure gauge; - the verification period is overdue. Liquid pressure gauges can be used at gas pressures up to 0.03 MPa

Calibration of pressure gauges terms, methodology, rules
Various measuring devices can be installed in the compressed air injection system; a pressure gauge is widely used. Like many other devices, this one must undergo periodic maintenance.Only in this case, you can be sure that it will last for a long period, and the readings obtained will be accurate. Consider all the features of the pressure gauge verification procedure in more detail.
Calibration of pressure gauges: rules
The check of pressure gauges should be carried out solely taking into account the basic rules and recommendations, since mistakes made can lead to a decrease in the accuracy of the product. The basic rules are as follows:
- To begin with, a pressure gauge is inspected to determine the condition of the mechanism. Damage to the device may indicate that verification is not worth it at all. Some of the defects can be eliminated, for example, by replacing the protective glass, it all depends on the characteristics of a particular pressure gauge model.
- The most approximate conditions to operational are created. An example is the indicator of air humidity, atmospheric pressure and room temperature.
- At the beginning of the test, the pointer should be at zero. This eliminates the possibility of an error at the time of measurement.
If it is not possible to set the arrow to zero, then the device is adjusted using a special bolt.
