Geometric dimensions of hanging toilet bowls
Despite all the installation difficulties, however, it must be admitted that for small apartments, a hanging toilet will be a rather practical solution, especially since manufacturers produce models not only with different designs, but also with sizes. Based on the selected dimensions, as well as the size of the toilet room itself, the height of the hanging toilet depends on the floor.
By size in terms of toilet bowls are divided into:
- Small - the length in plan does not exceed 54 cm, this is the most acceptable option for small bathrooms;
- Medium - length in plan ranges from 54 to 60 cm;
- Increased - the length reaches up to 70 cm, such models will be optimal for use by obese people and people with disabilities.
Installation can be carried out, as in the case of floor models, on a straight wall or in a corner, it is enough to purchase an installation kit of the appropriate sample.
Installation of a wall hung toilet
Particular attention at the preparatory stage should be paid to the installation of the installation, since the reliability of fastening the toilet itself depends on the quality of the fasteners of this element. The supporting frame can be installed either in a specially made niche, or simply attached to the supporting wall, but in this case, you will have to additionally install a plasterboard partition
Niche options: width - 60 cm; height from the floor level - 1 m; depth - 15-20 cm. If the installation is carried out in a niche, then it is necessary to calculate the remaining wall thickness and, if necessary, compensate for the thinning with a layer of insulation. A puncher is used to drill holes, and since fixing is carried out not only to the wall, but also to the floor, four holes must be made, fastening is done using studs.
The straightness of the frame must be checked with a spirit level in all planes and, if necessary, adjusted so that the height of the installation for the wall-mounted toilet bowl allows the sewer pipe to be routed exactly in accordance with the location of the toilet bowl. Once this junction is finalized, the frame is rigidly fixed with bolts. A flat drain tank with pre-installed fittings is installed inside the frame.
The sewer pipe supply scheme, which must necessarily have a slight slope towards the riser, also depends on the chosen installation height of the hanging toilet bowl. The length of the last pipe, before connecting to the toilet, should be measured very accurately, the excess will lead to a loose fit of the toilet to the wall, and the lack will provoke a leak, and the thickness of the decorative partition should also be taken into account. The connection to the water supply system should be made exclusively with rigid PVC pipes, since flexible hoses, even those made of stainless steel, can leak over time. At the very last stage, the casing for the push-button module is installed, after which the wall cladding is done along with the installation.
At the end of the finishing work, the toilet bowl is mounted on studs located inside on the horizontal upper lintel and passing through the partition. Since the toilet does not come with any gasket to relieve stress between the ceramic and the wall, it is recommended to cut one from any soft polymer material. The bolts must not be screwed in all the way, as this may cause cracking of the porcelain. Lastly, drain buttons are installed, they are connected to the tank using a polyethylene tube and fixed in the casing.
Installation height of the wall hung toilet
At what height should a wall hung toilet be installed? Of course, this question is of great interest to the owners, since if everything is more or less clear with the floor structure, then how to choose this size in the hanging model? If there are young children in the family, then this fact must be taken into account when choosing the height.
The maximum height from the bowl to the floor, which is also the standard one, is from 40 to 43 cm. This parameter is recommended by SNiP as optimal for an adult and the most comfortable, including for families with children. Reducing or increasing the height is advisable only if the majority of family members are below or above average height. In this case, during the installation of the installation, you can select the required level, but it should be remembered that it will be possible to change it only by disassembling the entire structure, that is, by starting the repair again.
