Often, when renovating or building on newly purchased land, it is necessary to move the gas pipe on the site.
All installation and maintenance activities related to gas supply must be carried out by certified and highly qualified specialists.
Transfer may be required in an ordinary apartment, with a partial or major overhaul of the kitchen.
On summer cottages or land plots, the gas pipeline is usually laid underground. This arrangement isolates the gas pipe from possible hazards and, as a result, an emergency gas leak. However, such systems are more time-consuming to maintain than above-ground ones.
Another option for the location of the pipeline is on special supports, both along the site and directly along it, in accordance with the adopted plan for the gasification of the area or garden (dacha) partnership. Being in sight, the pipes of the gas system are accessible for any damage, on the one hand, and on the other hand, they are easier to repair and replace.
It must be remembered that, despite the seeming simplicity of such an action as transferring a pipe, it is by no means possible to do it yourself. Gas is a combustible and highly flammable substance of increased danger. Therefore, only qualified and certified specialists should be engaged in all maintenance, installation, transfer and dismantling of the gas supply system.
How to move a gas pipe
It is possible to move or raise a gas pipe both in an apartment and in a private house or on a site only after obtaining the appropriate permit and hiring qualified specialists. Otherwise, you can not only pay a fine, but also provoke a fire or explosion.
It is usually necessary to move or raise a gas pipe in a private house or apartment in the kitchen, since the location of the pipes often interferes with the ergonomic organization of space. At the same time, any work on the transfer of pipes begins with a preparatory stage, which involves the collection of documents.
Required documents
The main list of documents that must be collected before starting work includes:
- an application for calling a specialist, which must be submitted to the gas service in charge of the apartment, plot, private house;
- conclusion of a specialist allowing to carry out work on the transfer. The transfer of gas pipes is regulated by technical standards. So, pipes cannot pass in residential premises, in basements, block windows and doors, be close to electrical wiring, etc.;
- plan for gasification of the site and neighboring territories;
- plan of the house or apartment, as well as a detailed plan of the premises where the work is supposed to be carried out;
- documents confirming the ownership of an apartment, house, land.
A plan of an apartment or plot is necessary to develop a new pipe layout. Proof of ownership, in turn, usually needs to be provided to the company that will carry out the work, in order to avoid various legal misunderstandings.
The principle of work
The list of works, following which you can move the gas pipe both on the site and in the kitchen in an apartment or in a private house, includes:
- blocking the gas flow for the duration of the work;
- blowing out the pipe section that is supposed to be cut;
- cutting pipes, welding holes;
- organization of new openings, gas valves in accordance with the new pipe layout plan;
- installation of new pipes / flexible hoses in compliance with technical and safety standards;
- sealing existing connections, leak testing (usually done using soap suds);
- test launch of the gas mixture through the pipe.
The duration and cost of pipe transfer work most often depends on their complexity, which involves one or more visits of the master to the site / apartment. At the same time, the qualification of work is determined by the reliability of the new gas pipeline, therefore, work should be carried out only by masters of companies that have the appropriate licenses, and only with permission from the gas services. An attempt to carry out a "gas redevelopment" without complying with the rules and regulations can cause fires and explosions in domestic gas.
