Write a letter to the governorThe law of silence in the Komi Republic

The disco at our neighbors behind the wall began on Saturday evening. At exactly 10:00 pm they turned the music down.

Currently, my husband and I live in a hostel, and loud music on weekends (including at night and in the morning) is a common thing.

But in the Republic of Komi, the so-called “Law on Silence” is in force, according to which it is not allowed to disturb the peace and quiet of citizens: 1) from 22:00 to 07:00 on weekdays (from Monday to Friday inclusive); 2) from 22:00 to 09:00 on weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and non-working holidays established by federal law; 3) in the period from 13:00 to 15:00 (on weekdays and weekends) when carrying out repair work, reorganization and (or) redevelopment in residential and non-residential premises of apartment buildings, common areas of apartment buildings, dormitories and hotels.

In Komi came into force the law on silence

On November 7, 2016, the Law of the Republic of Komi dated October 27, 2016 No. 107-RZ “On ensuring the peace and quiet of citizens on the territory of the Komi Republic” came into force. In accordance with the Law, the violation of the peace and quiet of citizens is understood as an action (inaction), entailing the appearance of noise, the consequence of which is a decrease in the comfort of living (stay) of citizens.

Periods of time during which the violation of peace and quiet of citizens is not allowed: 1) from 22:00 to 07:00 on weekdays (from Monday to Friday inclusive); 2) from 22:00 to 09:00 on weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and non-working holidays established by federal law. It is not allowed to disturb the peace and quiet of citizens in the period from 13:00 to 15:00 (on weekdays and weekends) during repair work, reorganization and (or) redevelopment
