Advantages and disadvantages of galvanized gutters
Galvanized roof gutters are popular because of the large list of advantages, which include:
- high level of sound insulation. In the event of hail, large raindrops, and so on, the noise level will be minimal, unlike other types of materials;
- extremely low fading. With prolonged use, the galvanized drain does not lose its natural shade. This condition is not met if the gutter or other element of the system was subject to additional staining;
- corrosion resistance. During manufacture, individual elements of the drainage system are subjected to additional processing with polymeric materials, which greatly increases the level of non-susceptibility to the formation of a corrosive coating;
- resistance to fluctuations in ambient temperature and high humidity. Under the influence of temperature and humidity, gutters, funnels, pipes and other structural elements made of galvanized steel do not deform and do not lose their characteristics;
- resistance to mechanical stress;
- the lightness of the material, which contributes to the ease of delivery and installation of the structure of the drainage system from the roof;
- low cost.
These advantages completely cover one significant drawback of this material - the need for periodic maintenance of the system by touching up individual elements, timely cleaning and elimination of minor defects.
The gutter system made of galvanized steel, with proper and timely care, can last more than 20 years.
