Direct installation
Allow the motor to cool down before starting installation. Better to let it cool down naturally. Then it is necessary to drain the coolant into a previously prepared and clean container. It will still be useful, so it is better to make sure that it remains as clean as possible.
Next, take a new additional pump to the Gazelle stove and twist the screws from the impeller side. The rubber gasket, which you will definitely find there, must be coated with a silicone-based sealant to prevent leakage. Then assemble this structure back, but discard the self-tapping screws, and instead install thin long bolts under ordinary nuts. So you can make the connection as tight as possible.
Now let's move on to the next step. It consists in finding the installation location of the device. There are several options. This may be a place on the stud on which the washer reservoir is fixed, on the stud near the battery.
Most motorists, when they installed an additional pump on the Gazelle stove, used the second method. It is described in the instructions for the pump. That is why the devices should be positioned so that the pump nozzle is directed towards the unit. To do this, you need to unclench the iron clamp.
Ready? Then fix the pump and proceed to the installation of hoses. To do this, you need to remove them from the stove and the tube that comes out from under the collector. Now take a piece of pre-prepared reinforced hose. It should be of such length that it can reach the pump from the brass pipe of the collector without unnecessary kinks.
In order to fix the hose, an adapter is useful. In this role, the corner successfully works. You can fix the part on the corner with the help of clamps.
The connection of the pump and the hose from the standard stove is much easier. There is no need to mount adapters here. You just need to stretch the desired dimensions, and then connect it all. It is also fastened with clamps. To complete all the fastenings completely, a corrugated aluminum pipe can be put on the mounted hoses. This is done so that the hoses do not melt. Now you can securely fix everything. Let's move on to the electrical part.
Additional pump what you need to know
So, if initially the stove does not work well, although it is fully functional, and also if the car is often used in severe frosts, regular heating may not be enough even for a middle-class car.
In the case of VAZ or old foreign cars, the problem is solved by gluing the dashboard, upgrading the heating system, installing tight dampers, replacing the stove radiator, the stove motor itself with a more efficient one, etc.
However, if all these actions are not enough, then an additional pump on the stove may be the way out. In a nutshell, the auxiliary heater pump is an electric pump that circulates the cooling system fluid in a small circle even when the engine is not running.
This allows you to actively warm up the interior when the internal combustion engine is running or when the warm engine is turned off, but the driver and / or passengers are in the car (fuel savings and increased comfort).
Also, an additional heater pump helps out even when the engine is idling without load (for example, when idle in a traffic jam) and cools down quickly. In such conditions, a regular stove usually blows not hot, but only warm air.
By the way, the same thing happens when driving on the highway at high speed in the cold season, when oncoming air flows intensively cool the engine compartment, as well as the coolant in the cooling radiator, etc. In turn, an additional pump for the heater makes the coolant circulate more actively and give off more heat.
Also on the list of advantages is ease of installation, which means minimal intervention and changes to the factory design.Simply put, an additional pump is inserted so that the coolant circulates in a small circle.
A simple connection of the pump to the electrical network of the car is also realized. Usually, all the necessary fasteners, adapters, connectors, etc. are included with the pump.
Installation of an additional pump on the stove
When all the nuances are taken into account and a suitable electric pump is purchased, you will also often need to buy the additional elements and fasteners discussed above. Only after assembling a complete installation kit, you can proceed to installation. Let's take a look at the simple installation of a BOSCH pump in general terms.
At the initial stage, a construction of two hoses and a pump is assembled
Given that the pump is a drain for antifreeze or antifreeze, it is important to securely fasten the hoses to the fittings.
Next, you need to put the car on the handbrake, remove the terminals from the battery and drain the antifreeze. Further, having studied the wiring diagram, you should find two hoses from the stove
For example, on a VAZ 2114, you will need to remove the right hose.
Then, the assembled structure is installed in place of this hose, and the pump itself is fixed in a suitable place (for example, on the VAZ 2114 on the gearbox housing).
In fact, the pump crashes into a break in the antifreeze supply hose to the stove, and a 90-degree angle insert is also installed, made of a copper tube of a suitable diameter (for example, 22mm). The outlet from the thermostat is connected to the upper pipe (inlet), and the side pipe (outlet) is connected to the stove.
Further, having connected all the pipes, it remains only to fill the antifreeze into the system, apply power to the pump and check the operation of the device. In parallel, all joints should be inspected for leaks.
As for the GAZelle pump, the general installation principle is similar, but the pump itself needs to be disassembled and modified. In short, it is recommended to disassemble the pump and coat it with sealant. If this is not done, very quickly the antifreeze will begin to flow through the pump. More precisely, you need to lubricate the area where the impeller and the rubber sealing ring are located.
Also, the standard self-tapping screws that are used in the design of this pump, it is optimal to immediately change and install better quality screws. After sealant treatment and assembly of the pump, it should not be immediately put on the car. The fact is that the sealants must dry, which will require at least 48 hours.
- If we consider pump control, it is also necessary to separately display the button. Usually it is taken out to the dashboard, put instead of plugs, etc. Power for the stove pump button can be taken directly from the battery. The main thing is to install a fuse, as well as a relay.
- You also need to correctly lay the wiring, all wires must be in heat shrink and securely fastened. After installation, the driver gets the opportunity to turn the pump on and off at his discretion.
How to choose an electric pump
It seems that we have figured out what the additional pump gives us. Now let's find out how to choose it:
The electric pump from the Gazelle is usually the most popular option. She fits perfectly. This element is a conventional centrifugal pump. The disadvantage of this pump is that it cannot pump air, due to the large gaps between the impeller and the housing.

- "Advanced", so to speak, motorists are advised to install, as a better option, an electric pump from Bosh.
- Such an option as a pump from Elara will also do. The manufacturer has recently significantly improved the element, putting in a new seal that does not leak. In addition, the section of the fittings was increased, and this gave a double increase in productivity.
- A pump from "Advers" will also do.
Which particular pump to choose, the owner decides. The pump options have practically no difference, but you need to choose a pump that does not have leaks. In addition, by choosing a high-quality pump, the likelihood of its breakdown or poor performance will be reduced to zero.
What can it give
So, let's find out for a start what an additional electric pump will give us in the VAZ 2109:
It turns out that installing an additional pump in a car of this model of the VAZ family can significantly increase the efficiency of blowing warm air into the passenger compartment at idle.
- Installation of an additional pump, of course, will largely insulate the interior, but the volume of pumped antifreeze will double. This, in turn, will lead to the fact that the engine will cool down more and you need to take care, in addition, to save its heat. Complete thermal insulation of the car in this case will be what you need, especially since nowadays you can find a huge amount of materials for this in stores.
- An additional pump, of course, gives an irreplaceable effect. On the other hand, this creates an additional load on the VAZ generator, which will also have to be upgraded. The fact is that on the "nines" there is a slightly weak current converter.
