Shumoplast products in Odessa and the Southern region are represented by ASK Master Class
Shumoplast is a leveling soundproofing coating in the form of a granular mixture for creating "floating" floors in residential and public buildings. The granulated mixture is made from an elastic vibration-isolating material, patented in the CIS countries and effectively copes with impact and airborne noise.
Compound
The soundproofing mixture Shumoplast consists of specially treated polystyrene foam granules, an acrylic binder and a rubber compensating additive. All components of the material are harmless to human health.
Application
Shumoplast granulated soundproofing mixture is used in floating floor constructions, mainly in rooms with a large area and an uneven floor surface. The mixture allows the “floating floor” construction to maintain the stability of acoustic characteristics, despite the unevenness of the floor, small construction debris, and the remains of protruding reinforcement. It is applied to the surface manually or mechanically. When applying the material vertically, a primer mixture is used - Shumoplast-Grunt.
Specifications
- Ready-to-use mixture. The weight of the bag is 13 kg. Volume - 0.2 m3.
- Material consumption - 1.3 kg / m2 with a layer thickness of 20 mm.
- Shumoplast-Grunt is produced in buckets 3/8/15 kg
- Material consumption - 120 g per 1 running meter with a width of 100 mm.
Impact sound insulation
Acoustic tests were carried out by the laboratory of acoustic measurements of the NIISF RAASN, Moscow.
Coating type | Coating thickness, mm | Surface density of the screed, kg/m2 | Impact noise reduction index, Ln, w, dB |
Shumoplast 10 | 10 | 120 | 24 |
Shumoplast 20 | 20 | 120 | 28 |
Shumoplast 20 | 20 | 160 | 32 |
Advantages
- patented technology
- convenient and fast installation (complete polymerization after 24 hours)
- Can be applied to uneven surfaces
- shrinkage no more than 5% (under load up to 5 kPa)
Installation
Before starting work on the installation of the Shumoplast mixture, it is necessary to remove all large debris from the floor surface. As already mentioned, Shumoplast is applied manually or mechanically directly to the floor, leveled with a special spatula. During installation, it is imperative to place a layer of Noiselayer on the wall at a level higher than the screed in order to avoid the creation of sound bridges. For installation on walls or columns, it is necessary to apply Shumoplast-Primer first to increase adhesion. After polymerization of the Shumoplast mixture, a leveling screed with a thickness of at least 50 mm and with mandatory reinforcement can be applied to the surface. After the screed has hardened, the remains of Shumoplast are cut off with a construction knife, and the gaps remaining after that are filled with a special Vibrosil sealant.

Types and marking of coating
Depending on the purpose, there are three brands of Isoplast - K, P, DP. The letter K indicates that the material is used as a roofing material. The front surface is covered with coarse powder of different colors, and the lower part is made of polymer. These are the brands EKP 4.5 and EKP 5.0.
P means that the material is coated with a polymer and is intended for roofing. These are Isoplast EPP 4, the technical characteristics of which are largely determined by an increased amount of binder, and special material EMP 5.5 with fine dressing. The category of DP includes the brands DKhP 1.5, DKhP 2.0, as well as DKhP 2.5 - waterproofing with a vapor-conducting layer.
Installation of waterproofing
Application of Isoplast popular brands
- EPP isoplast is made on the basis of fiberglass.Atactic polypropylene is added to the composition of the binder, which increases the elasticity and resistance of the material to frost. Thanks to this, the waterproofing of this brand is well suited for regions even with the most severe climate. It is extremely strong, differs in the improved technical and operational properties, the increased service life.
- Isoplast EKP is a new material designed specifically for waterproofing objects in contact with water. It is insensitive to mechanical damage, wear-resistant and suitable for tunnels, pools, bridges, roads. Even with significant operating loads, Isoplast EKP retains its properties for 30 years.
- Isoplast HPP is used for waterproofing horizontal surfaces - roof structures, underground structures, boiler rooms, etc. A lining water-repellent layer is arranged from it for roofs that do not experience serious loads. The service life declared by the manufacturer is 20-25 years.

Technology of installation of built-up roofing
Isoplast can only be mounted on a clean, flat surface. It is laid on reinforced concrete, mineral wool heat-insulating slabs; leveling cement screed; asphalt concrete bases; wood or plywood. If you plan to install on brick or foam blocks, the surfaces will have to be plastered with a cement-sand mortar.
Preparing the base for the built-up roof
Regardless of the type of surface, the base must be thoroughly cleaned of debris, ice, potholes, sagging, and removal of bumps and protruding reinforcement elements. If there are oil stains, they should be burned out and the laitance cleaned off. Dust can be removed with ordinary brushes, special compressors, industrial vacuum cleaners, or simply washed off with water. To eliminate cracks, a cement-sand mortar or bituminous mastic is suitable.
When the preparation of the base is completed, check how even it is. To do this, use a rail about 2 m long. There should be no sharp protrusions on the surface, but gradually increasing irregularities are allowed if their height does not exceed 0.5 cm along the slope and 1 cm across. It is also necessary to calculate the laying of the roof so that the temperature-shrinkage joints are not located above the joints of concrete slabs or monolithic thermal insulation.
The base must be dry. If there is no surface moisture meter, you can determine the degree of humidity using a piece of polyethylene film measuring 1x1m. It is laid on the base, left for several hours, after which it is checked for the presence of condensate. If it is, you need to remove excess moisture with a rag moistened with acetone and a building hair dryer. It is advisable to lay the heating cable in expansion joints.
Laying tapes before starting work
- In places where horizontal surfaces adjoin vertical structures, small bumpers are made of asphalt concrete or cement-sand mortar. This is necessary for a good fit of the material. The angle of inclination of the side should be 45 degrees, and its optimal height should be 10 cm.
- Surfaces are carefully treated with a primer or homemade bituminous primer. To prepare the primer, bitumen and gasoline are used in proportions of 1: 3 or 1: 4. The primer must dry completely. A sign of drying is the absence of stickiness.
- Laying starts from the bottom of the roof. The material is laid out, its edge is fixed with a burner, and it is checked how correctly it lay down. After that, the roll is rolled up again and the welding is started.
- The material is welded by heating the bottom of the roll and the base with a burner. At the same time, the roll is gradually rolled out towards you. Additionally, the edges of the roll are heated.
- When the first tape is laid, check the quality of the deposition by lifting the edges with a spatula. If they lag behind, they are warmed up again and glued.
- The following strips are laid with an overlap of 8-15 cm, carefully warming up the joints. They must be treated in such a way that water does not seep into them during operation.
- When processing the temperature-shrinkage joints of the screed, the material is placed with the dressing down. Where water intake funnels are located, waterproofing is welded in two layers.
- The roof is brought onto the parapet to a height of at least 25 cm. When it is fixed, a tape of the same material is additionally welded on top to ensure tightness.
Roof welding
The best advertisement of Isoplast is excellent technical characteristics, durability and reliability. It is chosen by those developers who prefer to pay once and forget about a leaking roof for decades. If no gross errors are made during the installation of the roof, it will serve without repairs and replacement. This is a good option for economical and practical people.
