Element strength

The strength of a reinforced concrete sewer well is quite sufficient for trouble-free use for more than a dozen years.

Although the resistance of concrete to compressive and expansion loads is 10 times lower than that of high-quality steel, the reinforcing jacket does not allow the product to collapse, taking on most of the deforming force.

The advantages and disadvantages of a reinforced concrete well are directly related to the material of manufacture:

  • reinforced concrete is technologically advanced and cheap. A detail of any complexity can be molded without any problems;
  • reinforced concrete is not subject to corrosion. The walls of the well are smooth and easy to clean;
  • the material of the well is inert and does not affect the quality of the water (the case of use as a source);
  • prefabricated elements greatly simplify the work and increase the speed of installation.

Among the shortcomings, one can note the low resistance to shock and deforming loads. But in the case of a well device, this practically does not matter.

Types of reinforced concrete rings

Additional reinforced concrete rings
for wells are used when it is necessary to get the desired height of the main ring. This type of reinforced concrete structure is marked as KS-7-5 (diameter 70 cm, height 50 cm).

Support or adjustment
, a reinforced concrete well ring is necessary to control the height of the well, as well as for the stability of the structure directly under the hatch. When marking, the following designations are used: KO 6 - inner diameter 600mm. The name of the neck KO 6 is also found.

When arranging settling tanks, viewing, drainage tanks of drainage communications, receiving containers are used: plastic and reinforced concrete wells for sewage. The choice of material for the manufacture of structures depends on:

  • Planned load on the structure.
  • Type, composition of the soil.
  • Depths of installation, the ability to use equipment.
  • The need to assemble a tank of a non-standard size.

Typical reinforced concrete sewer well

A typical design of reinforced concrete sewer wells, depending on their purpose, was developed back in 1984 by the Central Research Institute of Standard and Experimental Design.

It is the last album that is of interest to us. It presents calculated data for most types of wells of interest to owners of suburban areas.

Such information is truly invaluable for the master, who decided to independently build both a septic tank from reinforced concrete rings and an ordinary well responsible for the water supply of the site.

Constituent elements

The struggle for the unification and manufacturability of manufactured products has led to the fact that the reinforced concrete well "assembly" has at least five structural elements:

  • concrete rings, the main ones that make up the frame of the entire structure;
  • rings are dimensional, additional, from 10 to 30 centimeters high. Used to accurately select the required height of the well;
  • concrete base or bottom. Depending on the manufacturer, it can be either reinforced concrete or simply concrete. Such liberties in the manufacture are allowed, since this element does not carry significant mechanical loads;
  • the mouth of the well with a hatch. It is used when using reinforced concrete rings with a diameter of two meters or more;
  • reinforced concrete slab, with a hatch, for wells of "normal" sizes.

The combination of the above elements makes it possible to realize the most daring plans of the beginner "homemade".

It takes place, as a rule, in a pre-prepared pit and begins with the preparation of the base for the first ring. Reinforced concrete structures are installed one on top of the other and fastened together with an euro lock (grooves of a certain shape) or staples made of steel reinforcement, with a diameter of 10-20 millimeters.

This operation is needed to increase the stability of the well shaft to possible displacements of soil layers, the so-called "quicksands". The concrete bottom, with a diameter slightly smaller than the reinforced concrete ring, is laid in the next turn.

It remains only to seal the seams with the help of special mortars.
