Work order
1. A place is selected for installing the collector according to the following parameters:
- minimum distance to the pool;
- the plane of the collector should be directed to the south.
On the marked area, the turf layer is removed. A sand and gravel pad is being carried out with a mandatory tamping. After that, a layer of waterproofing spreads and paving slabs are laid out.
2. A frame is made from a bar, the parts are connected to each other through the corners.
3. A shield frame is prepared on the ground and sheathed with plywood. Then the shield rises and is fixed on the frame.
4. Along the perimeter (with the help of corners), boards with grooves for glass are mounted. Sheets of metal are attached to the plywood plane. The shield is now painted black.
Places for mounting metal-plastic fasteners are marked on the plane of the collector - the distance between the pipes is about 45 mm. After installing the fasteners, chopped metal-plastic pipes are mounted in them. With the help of corners and fittings, a coil is assembled.
Two holes are drilled in the sides for the exit of pipes, at the ends of which tees are installed. The rest of the conduit scheme is assembled and a hydraulic test is carried out. Then the entire coil is covered with black paint.
5. A support bar is attached to the center of the shield and a frame made of aluminum profiles is assembled. Now the glass of the required size is cut, their perimeter is smeared with sealant, and they are placed in the grooves of the profile and wooden sidewalls. A fixing pad is installed at the junction of four sheets of glass, and pieces of corners are placed on the sides.
6. To power the pump, a moisture-proof socket is placed inside. Everything is ready, it remains to turn on the pump and conduct practical tests.
The completed system is not equipped with any automation, so it must be started and turned off manually. Before visiting the pool, for safety reasons, a complete shutdown of the electrical part is implied.
On a sunny day, the water temperature at the outlet of the collector reaches 70–75 °C. When the pump runs 4-7 hours a day, the water in the pool warms up to 25-30 °C. If you remove the check valve from the circuit, then it is possible to install a less weak pump. But then you have to manually turn the tap on the supply hose.
The installation, of course, needs some modifications. For example, after the pump, you can put a solenoid valve controlled by a timer or a photo relay. But the main conclusion of this project is that heating the pool with the help of the sun is a completely self-realizable idea. published by econet.ru
For maintenance of a 20 m² pool: heating bathing water and taking a shower, about 19,000 kWh of heat energy is required. Reducing costs even by 30% will increase the profitability of using an artificial reservoir. Solar collectors for swimming pools, with proper calculations and configuration, can compensate up to 13,000 kW / h. The solar system, despite the need for initial costs, is economically beneficial. The full return on investment comes after 3-5 years of active use.
Collectors for pools of factory production
The range includes solar systems designed for domestic and industrial use. The following manufacturers are the most popular:
- Intex is a company that produces accessories for swimming in the pool and open water, and water heating. In particular, the production of flexible solar collectors has been launched.
- Azuro is a Czech company that manufactures pools and everything necessary for their operation. In the product range, there are two lines of water heaters:
- Azuro Spiral - pyramidal collectors, with a total absorbing area of 0.96 m²;
- Azuro Shelter - flexible solar collectors, with the ability to install both a straight unfolded leaf and an arch. Absorbable area 1.84 m².
- Kokido Keops is a dome collector designed for heating water in frame and prefabricated pools. It is allowed to connect 4 separate modules into a single system. The solar system copes with the heating of 40 m³ of water.
- Sunheater is a brand of the American company SmartPool Inc. The flexible solar heater can be installed on the roof or mounted on a frame near the pool. Absorbent sheet length 6 m, width 0.6 m.
- Speck BADU BK is another popular flexible solar collector model. The solar system increases the heating of the water in the pool by 10-15°C, after which it automatically maintains the temperature. The product is of good build quality.
The described models are suitable for domestic use. For commercial purposes, it is recommended to install complete solar tube or panel systems from the following manufacturers: Atmosfera, Sidite, Vaillant, SunRain, Viessmann, YaSolar.
How to make a collector for the pool with your own hands
A solar heater of a pyramidal or flexible type costs starting from 20 thousand rubles. A home-made water heater, taking into account the purchase of all the necessary components, will cost 5-6 thousand rubles. For the pool, it is easiest to make a pyramidal solar collector. The water heater has a simple internal structure. Easy to assemble. First you need to calculate the length and diameter of the solar collector pipes for the pool. Calculations are performed in the following way:
- the recommended value of the coolant velocity in the solar system is 0.4-0.7 m/s;
- the length is calculated taking into account the fact that 1 m of hose (25 mm in diameter) on a sunny day will heat about 3.5 liters of hot water in 1 hour. The table shows the number of hours of sunshine for temperate regions:
January
May
September
February
June
October
March
July
November
April
August
December
The calculation of the collector is approximate, the intensity of heating may be affected by climatic conditions. Pyramidal solar water heater for the pool is made:
- from a polyethylene black pipe;
- from HDPE pipes.
The frame in the form of a Christmas tree is made of wood or metal. The lid is made of polycarbonate or glass. Do-it-yourself solar collector for the pool is assembled according to the following scheme:
- the pipe is wound in a spiral onto the frame and fixed with clamps;
- between the turns leave a gap of 1-1.5 cm;
- the hose at the point of entry into the solar water heater for the pool is thermally insulated.
Calculations show that 1 m² of the absorbent surface of a plastic solar water heater will be enough to fully heat 1 m² of an outdoor outdoor pool area.
Installation and connection of the solar collector to the pool
Solar systems of tubular and panel type must be mounted by specialized teams. Connection to the pool of solar water heaters of the pyramidal type and flexible collectors is carried out independently. The assembly is carried out according to the following scheme:
- the location of the solar collector is determined;
- the pyramid is installed on a reflective mat;
- a flexible collector is spread directly on the surface of the soil, or mounted on the roof;
- a pumping station is installed to supply cold water from the pool;
- The return line is connected directly to the bowl of an artificial reservoir.
It will not work to heat the water in the pool in winter with the help of solar collectors alone. If you plan to operate the reservoir throughout the year, you need to install the main source of heat: gas, solid fuel or electric boiler. The solar system in the winter season will compensate for the cost of heat in the range of 10-20%.
Swimming pool heating DIY solar collector
Ecology of consumption. Homestead: There are several ways to heat the water in the pool. Some of them are easy to install on your own. This article will tell you how to make your own pool water heating using solar energy.
Among the various solutions to the problem of heating water in the pool on their own, one of the best options can be considered the use of solar thermal energy. The main element of such a heating system is a solar collector, the construction process of which we will consider in more detail, using the example of a particular pool.
The pool in which we will make a water heating system is a 10 m3 tank, already equipped with a filtration system. A dome made of polycarbonate was made above it (an ordinary greenhouse, suitable in size, was installed). The indoor pool cools down less at night, and the water in it is cleaner - leaves, insects and other debris do not get in. Given the presence of a submersible pump, it was decided to organize water heating without changing the existing system.
How the system works
An electric pump submerged to the bottom of the pool draws cold water. It is fed through a hose into a metal-plastic coil. The coolant, passing through the pipes, is heated by the sun's rays and then through another corrugated hose is fed back to the bottom of the pool, but from the opposite edge.
The diagram shows the collector and pool connections. An air valve is used to release air. Corrugated hoses of the minimum possible length are stretched from the manifold tees to the pump - to reduce heat losses.
1 - exhaust valve; 2 - tee; 3 - collector; 4 - tee; 5 - drain valve; 6 - tap on the inlet hose; 7 - check valve; 8 - submersible pump; 9 - swimming pool
