How to use
A film resistive electric heater, or a mobile warm floor, is designed to provide a warm floor surface in any room by installing it under carpet, laminate, carpet, and other floor coverings.
The design consists of several strips of electric film with heating properties - film thickness 0.6 mm, width 0.5 m, which are fastened together with an electric cable with mandatory grounding.
The mobile warm floor has its own temperature controller, which is attached to the wall, and from it the device is connected to the network through a regular 220 V socket.
The installation of such a floor consists in the fact that it is simply rolled out on the floor in the right place and covered with a carpet or other covering.
After turning on the mobile mat, its temperature begins to rise and is limited by the thermostat settings. The large area of the mobile floor allows you to quickly and efficiently heat a fairly large room.
The thermostat provides smooth temperature control with a threshold of 1 ° C and saves energy.
The average power of a mobile underfloor heating is 250 W / m². This value suggests that if you cover only 25-30% of the floor in the middle of the room with such a rug, then this will be enough to fully heat the room.
That is, there is no need for a complex arrangement of water-heated floors, for warming the existing floor or for a major overhaul of the floor with its subsequent adaptation to existing "warm floor" systems.
infrared floor
Underfloor heating based on the use of infrared film is a design with a thin carbon heating film. The carbon film emits infrared rays and anions (negatively charged ions).
A carbon paste based on carbon compounds works as an emitter; it is applied in even or curved stripes parallel to each other.
Also, the domestic market supplies Czech and American products, so there is always a choice of high-quality or inexpensive mobile underfloor heating.
But competition always causes price reductions for the consumer, and this is a big plus.
The advantages of a film infrared floor are obvious:
- The thermal conductivity of carbon fiber (the hydrocarbon fiber used in the mobile IR floor) is much greater than that of resistive counterparts.
- High heating efficiency with significantly lower power consumption is the second plus of the system.
The naive ideas of some buyers that the allegedly warm film floor with infrared radiation emits harmful negatively charged ions can be dispelled in a nutshell.
The infrared film itself does produce a small amount of anions, but the IR floor is always covered with a floor covering - so the radiation is completely extinguished.
Of the clear advantages of infrared mobile floor heating, one can also name the fact that the floor is easily laid both under fashionable and modern coatings: laminate, carpet, linoleum, vinyl, and simply covered with carpet or ordinary carpet.
The complete mobility of the infrared floor is its next advantage: having laid the mobile warm floor under the carpet, you just have to connect it to the network through a grounded socket, and that's it.
An electronic temperature controller ensures absolute safety of the IR mobile underfloor heating.
And you can use a portable mobile warm floor in any room, removing it in the summer in the pantry or on the balcony.
Prices for mobile underfloor heating
The warm floor under the carpet is available in the form of large walkways or rugs under the feet.
It can also be mobile mattresses or full coverage for the entire room.
Depending on the area of the mobile floor and its power, the price of the product also changes.
As of the beginning of 2014, the table shows prices for the most popular brands of mobile underfloor heating in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Prices in regions may differ by +/- 10%, dictated by the remoteness of the region, transportation and storage costs.
Manufacturer | Mobile floor dimensions (mm) | Electricity consumption | Surface temperature | Product cost, (rub) | Manufacturer's Warranty |
Ukraine | 1800×600 | 0.25 kW | 40-45°С | 1500 | 1 year |
Teplolux-Express | 2000×2800 | 0.6 kW | 15-30°C | 12000 | 2 years |
