Types and types of water sockets
Water outlets are usually classified according to several criteria.
According to the scope of the pipeline element, there are:
- water sockets for cold water supply systems,
- hot water supply,
- heating.
The difference between the last two and the first is the use of materials adapted to high-temperature thermal effects.
Also, water sockets are distinguished by the material of manufacture:
- Bronze and brass. Relatively inexpensive and practical products.
- Products from stainless steel. Able to withstand pressure up to 20 atmospheres, but at a cost higher than other types.
- Water sockets made of galvanized cast iron. They are cheaper than stainless steel, but less practical, and with any damage to the outer protective layer, they corrode.
- Polypropylene products, which, due to their reliability and low cost, are becoming more and more in demand among consumers. Perfectly are suitable both for systems of cold, and hot water supply.
- PVC water outlets. They can be used in water supply networks where the carrier temperature does not exceed 40 degrees.
Socket for washing machine features and connection principles
For competent, long-term and uninterrupted operation of the machine, the issue of correctly connecting is important.
Pay special attention to the following points: • Pay attention to the power of the device. As a rule, most machines have power between 2000 and 2500 watts.
For example, many Indesit brand washing machines have an average power of 2100 watts. Knowing the power index, it is necessary to calculate the features of the cross section of the supply wires (the greater the power, the larger the wire cross section should be). • Create a grounding system. This item is extremely important to ensure the safe use of the washing machine. In most cases, this device is installed in the bathroom, and this, as you know, is a place with a high degree of danger. Therefore, the creation of reliable grounding is a prerequisite for the competent connection of the washing machine. Some models (for example, many Bosch machines) are equipped with a special built-in safety system that protects against electric shock. The power cord plug of such machines is equipped with a special grounding contact. These are the best machines to use, especially when installed in the bathroom. • Equip the correct outlet. This item is key in the entire procedure for preparing the washing machine for connection to the network. It is not recommended to plug the device into a regular standard socket. You need a socket with a special grounding contact (the so-called "Euro socket"). It is recommended to use sockets with ceramic fittings. In no case should you use tees, extension cords and other adapters. In the event of a contact failure or an overload in the network, this can lead to a fire. If you are installing the machine in a bathroom, it is best to opt for special sockets designed for such hazardous areas with high levels of humidity. These special sockets have an increased level of protection designed to withstand the possible impact of water. It is best to place the power control unit of the outlet in the apartment electrical panel, and make it a separate group. • Install a residual current device (or RCD). Such a device provides additional safety and protects against electric shock. The setting value of this device must be 30 mA or less. The RCD must necessarily be equipped with a circuit breaker, fuse or other protective device. After the protective device, it is necessary to install a residual current device with a rating one step higher than the rated current. This will ensure uninterrupted operation of the protective device. • It is strictly forbidden to "neutralize" the body of the washing machine, that is, connect it to the water supply and heating pipes. In addition, it is also not recommended to make a jumper in the socket between the ground contact and zero: this can lead to false operation of the residual current device.
Important!
By following all these simple connection rules, you will be able to establish uninterrupted and safe operation of your new machine. If you strictly follow the instructions above and pay attention to all, it would seem, even the most insignificant nuances, your machine will serve you faithfully for many years, and you will never need a service repair of washing machines.
